Be Part of Something Big

Volunteer at Collectors Con ● March 13–15, 2026 ● The Lismore Hotel, Eau Claire

Last year, thousands of collectors, fans, and families packed The Lismore Hotel for the first-ever Chippewa Valley Collectors Con. This year, we’re back and bigger than ever—two ballrooms, special guests, gaming tournaments, and two floors of vendors at capacity.

But we can’t do it without you.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable volunteers to help us pull off an unforgettable weekend. Whether you’re a die-hard collector or just love being part of a great community event, there’s a role for you. No experience necessary—just a good attitude and a willingness to jump in.

Why Volunteer?

  • Free Weekend Entry: Skip the admission line and enjoy the con before and after your shift.

  • Behind-the-Scenes Access: See how the magic happens and be part of the team that makes it all work.

  • Meet Special Guests: Some roles work directly with our special guests—voice actors, sports legends, and more.

  • Community & Service Hours: Need volunteer hours for school, a service organization, or personal goals? We’ve got you covered.

  • Volunteer Hospitality Area: All volunteers have access to the Vendor & Volunteer Hospitality area—snacks, drinks, and a place to recharge during your shift.

Find Your Role

Every role is important, and every volunteer makes a difference. Here’s what we need:

Admissions Team

You’re the first face our attendees see! The admissions team handles payment processing, wristband distribution, and greeting guests as they arrive. You’ll help keep the line moving and set the tone for a great experience.

Great for: Friendly, organized people who are comfortable handling transactions.
Commitment: 4-hour shifts available across all three days. Multiple shifts welcome!

Guest Merchandise Sales

Help manage the sales area for our special guests’ merchandise, including photos, autographs, and memorabilia. You’ll handle transactions, keep the area organized, assist fans with their purchases, and provide receipts that attendees present to the special guest’s handler.

Great for: Detail-oriented people comfortable with cash handling and customer interaction.
Commitment: 4-hour shifts available across all three days.

Room Monitor (Richmond)

Keep things running smoothly on the floor in Richmond Hall. You’ll monitor crowd flow, keep aisles clear, watch for any issues, and help provide directions to attendees. A visible, approachable presence that helps everyone have a great experience.

Great for: Observant, approachable people who are comfortable on their feet.
Commitment: 4-hour shifts available across all three days.

Room & Line Monitor (Wilson)

Monitor crowd flow and keep aisles clear in Wilson Hall, plus manage lines for special guest signings and photo ops. You’ll keep queues orderly, help fans move through smoothly, and provide directions.

Great for: Patient, organized people who stay calm in busy environments.
Commitment: 4-hour shifts available across all three days.

Vendor & Volunteer Hospitality

Take care of our vendors and volunteers throughout the event. Check in on vendor booths and volunteer stations, deliver refreshments, keep the hospitality area stocked and tidy, and make sure everyone feels welcome and supported.

Great for: Warm, attentive people who enjoy taking care of others.
Commitment: 4-hour shifts available across all three days.

Runner / General Support

The all-purpose support role. Runners handle whatever needs doing — picking up food orders around town, making supply runs, delivering messages between team leads, assisting with setup and teardown, and jumping in wherever an extra set of hands is needed. Must have access to a vehicle for off-site errands.

Great for: Energetic, flexible people with reliable transportation.
Commitment: 4-hour shifts available across all three days.

Volunteer Coordinator (Lead)

Help manage the volunteer team during your shift. You’ll check in volunteers, answer questions, coordinate break schedules, and serve as the point of contact between the volunteer team and event leadership.

Great for: Experienced organizers or anyone comfortable leading a small team.
Commitment: Full-day shifts preferred for continuity.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience?

Nope! We’ll provide everything you need to know before the event. All we ask is that you show up ready to help and have a good time.

What if I need to cancel?

We understand things come up. Just let us know as soon as possible so we can find a replacement.

Can I attend the con when I’m not on my shift?

Absolutely. Volunteers get free weekend entry, so you can explore the vendor floor, check out panels, and enjoy the event before or after your shift.

I’m a student—can this count toward service hours?

Yes! We’re happy to provide documentation for service-learning credit, community engagement requirements, or any organization that tracks volunteer hours.

Can I volunteer with a friend?

Yes! Just make sure you both sign up for the same role and shift. Let us know in the notes, and we’ll do our best to keep you together.
